Photographer in Buenos Aires | Hey I’m Gissel, Your Local Visual Storyteller!

I’m the creative director of Wanderportraits, and as you might already know, I’m a professional photographer based in Buenos Aires. That means, if you book one of my photoshoots or photo tour experiences—we’ll get to meet in person!

From an early age, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for art in all its forms, and I’m constantly searching for new inspiration to fuel my creative journey. I’ve been into photography for as long as I can remember.

What started as a hobby, however, eventually became my full-on passion.

In 2019, I founded Wanderportraits—my own photography firm that focuses on capturing memories through candid, colorful images.

But I’m not doing it all alone. I work with a small, talented team that includes my web developer, graphic designer, and photo assistants. Together, we make everything possible; thanks to them, I get to spend more time doing what I love most—taking photos.

I also have a big love for teaching.

In fact, sharing what I know with people who are eager to dive into the world of frozen moments is something I truly enjoy. That’s why, since 2024, I’ve been teaching digital photography, video editing, and leading photo walk classes, for locals and tourists alike.

Social media and my degree in graphic design opened doors for me to work as a content creator, too. Moreover, I’m super curious and mostly self-taught, with a naturally entrepreneurial spirit. That’s why, back in 2014, I moved to Buenos Aires from San Cristóbal, a lovely little city right on the border between Venezuela and Colombia.

Since that move, life’s been a wild ride—full of ups and downs.

The highs taught me to believe in myself, while the lows gave me the push to keep going. All of it helped me build my dream job from the ground up.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading! Beyond work, on a more personal note— I absolutely love to travel. I’ve visited over 10 countries and 25 cities around the world. It was during one of those spontaneous, fate-led moments in 2018 that I discovered my niche as a vacation photographer in Buenos Aires.

Since then, I’ve had the joy of photographing thousands of travelers who come to experience beautiful Buenos Aires.

My photography style is fresh, colorful, and candid. In addition, I aim to create a relaxed space where anyone—solo travelers, families, couples, or friends—can feel comfortable and walk away with stunning, professional portraits. No matter the purpose—proposals, weddings, holidays, or simply capturing memories—I’ve got you covered.

To me, a photo should stir something inside you and instantly transport you back to that moment. It’s a timeless souvenir, like a poem told through an image.
